Ang Ah Tee

Born in 1942, Ang Ah Tee is an acclaimed second- generation artist, The 1962 Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts graduate is best known for his watercolour, oil and acrylic artworks.His style of painting evolves from time to time but is always characterised by his random brush strokes and forceful palette knife techniques which he applies speedily and instinctively. Unwittingly, he had mounted on an awe-inspiring personal odyssey. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and his works had been exhibited in various countries. His talent was recognised in 1977 when he was awarded the National Day Art Award by the Ministry of Culture, Singapore. In the same year, due to his passion towards painting, he became a full-time artist. In 2009, he received the Cultural Medallion in recognition of his artistic excellence.
