Early Life and Education Chua graduated from the Baharuddin Vocational Institute in Applied Sculpture in 1973. His early career included a significant tenure in engineering, where he honed skills in welding and metalwork—expertise that would later influence his sculptural practice. In 1996, he transitioned to a full-time art career, committing himself entirely to sculpture. Artistic Style and Contributions Chua's sculptures are renowned for their seamless blend of traditional Chinese calligraphy and modern sculptural forms. He often transforms Chinese characters into three-dimensional artworks, capturing the fluidity and essence of brushstrokes in metal and other materials.
