Born in 1964, William Lee Jik Yun has lived in Singapore all his life. Art has always been a passion of his since his childhood. During his adolescence, his passion for the arts developed and grew into full bloom where he studied art under the tutelage of the late Brother Joseph McNally at the then St Patrick School.Growing up has led him to realize that everything is transient, places that used to exist such as the Van Kleef Aquariums, have all but become photographs of the past. Through his works, he hopes to be able to share with the viewers a glimpse of the Singapore that he has grown up in, to cherish what is still here and reminisce Singapore what was like.His paintings are mainly done with acrylic and aims to convey a sense of nostalgia and longing. He has also held several solo exhibitions.
