Singapore

Ang Ah Tee was born in Singapore in 1943. While he was a student at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts from 1960 to 1962, he was mentored by the pioneer artists Cheong Soo Pieng and Georgette Chen. In 1977, he became a fulltime artist. This had given him a chance to travel widely to paint, first to Southeast Asia, Asia then to Europe. From the generation of artists who embraced both art techniques of 19th-century Parisian painters and abstract forms of visual expressions, Ang is known for his abstract and landscape acrylic paintings of a highly distinctive style.
